Elsegood’s Butchers are a family run business based in the village of Pott Row near Kings Lynn. The origins of the business can be traced back to at least 1892 when it was run by Mr Robert Coe, a butcher and farmer in the local area. The name changed to Elsegood Butchers in 1921 when Richard Elsegood married Maud Coe. We have been serving many generations of customers in West Norfolk both through the shop and home deliveries. Some generations of families have been served by us for over 50 years. These services we are proud to provide, from the early years by horse drawn cart to the present day of home deliveries by vehicular transport, at the customer’s request.
In the 1970’s the shop was extended by Roger and Colin Elsegood to provide a new cutting room and a more modern working environment. Roger Elsegood and his family took over the running of the shop in 1971. Colin then ran the family farm and used to buy the cattle, pigs etc from Kings Lynn cattle market to sell in the shop. The business has developed into a strong and thriving enterprise.
The business is now run by Phil and Margaret (nee Elsegood) who are the 4th generation of butchers. Alongside them is their son Roger Garrod. Elsegood’s Family Butcher now supply quality regional meats and poultry. They have an experienced, hardworking team ensuring excellent customer service, quality products and produce.
The team also provide home cooked pies, pasties and sausage rolls. We also supply bespoke products and outside catering, all with the personal touch to the customers expectations.
